Barker High School is located at 1628 Quaker Road in Barker, New York, providing educational opportunities for students in 9th through 12th grades residing in town of Somerset along with parts of Newfane, Hartland, Yates, and Ridgeway.
At the very beginning when Barker High School was created, only six students attended the school. Today, it has grown and continues the tradition set forth in the beginning, which is to expect academic excellence with highly acclaimed programs and activities. Barker High School takes pride in being a leader in the use of educational technologies while keeping all computers up to date and offering courses through Distance Learning and AP course. Along with providing an education, the school offers an excellent music program, clubs, activities, and athletic programs.
The clubs offered at Barker High School include AFS, Band & Chorus, DECA, English Club, Musical Theater Production Club, Junior Class, Latrator, National Honor Society, Student Council, Varsity Club, Video Club, and Senior Class.
Barker is a small district that most often competes as a Class C school in the Niagara Orleans League of Section VI, offers a wide variety of sports at multiple levels for its student-athletes.
