Allegany Elementary School Allegany is located at 120 Maple Avenue Allegany, NY. The Allegany Elementary School is located in Cattaraugus County, and educates grades Kindergarten through 5th. This school offers a special program called “Gator Program” that teaches the students personality traits such as responsibility, honesty, trustworthiness, friendship, and respectfulness. It also encourages them to lead active and healthy lives. The program is available on Wednesdays and Fridays and parents of the children that are in kindergarten, first, and second grade are encouraged to attend to see what their children are learning and what to expect from them.
At Allegany Elementary School they intend to educate all of the students to be “problem solvers, able to access and use information, make decisions in an information-rich environment, and communicate effectively as they live and work successfully in our global society”.
Students are supplied with learning technology at kindergarten grade levels, and by the end of Elementary School, students will have mastered keyboarding and word-processing and have been exposed to School Island for class prep, extensive data bases through the library, presentation tools and a variety of content software.
