Algonquin Middle School is located at 333 Ny Route 351 Averill Park, NY and it provides education for grades 6-8 in Rensselaer County. This school is governed by the Averill Park Central School District Board of education. The school is very involved in Odyssey of the Minds. Odyssey of the Mind is a statewide competition involving problem-solving skills. This competition begins at the school level, and when teams are successful, they progress to the state wide competition. Skills necessary to be selected for this activity include written and oral communication, problem solving, construction, artistic, sense of humor, and a sense of commitment to a challenge.
