South Kortright Central School District is located at 58200 State Highway 10 in South Kortright, New York. The district provides an education for students in the towns of South Kortright, Stamford, Harpersfield, Bovina, and Meredith. The district is home to one school, South Kortright Central School, for students in kindergarten through 12th grade. The district is nestled on the northwestern edge of the Catskill Mountains about 15 miles north of Delhi and 5 miles south of Stamford.
The area provides a wonderful area for all kinds of year round outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, cross country ski trails, hunting, fishing, and wildlife. The town of Oneonta is around a 30-minute drive from South Kortright and is the location of SUNY Oneonta and Hartwick College. Albany, New York is about an hour away and Binghamton is about 1 ½-hour drive from South Kortright Interstate 88.
The mission of South Kortright Central School District is “to aggressively provide all students, in an environment that is caring and challenging, the diversity of experiences to gain the skills and attitudes necessary for the lifetime acquisition of knowledge, aesthetics, and ethics. These experiences will insure the best quality of life for the students and their community.”
