Saratoga Springs City Schools
Saratoga Springs City School District is located at 3 Blue Streak Boulevard Saratoga Springs, NY serving grades K-12. "The commitment of the Board of Education and the staff of the district is energized by this strong message of support from our community. We will continue our work to provide excellent educational opportunities to every child, every day. Thank you for your confidence"
The school district's participation in Operation SAFE CHILD, a program created to raise awareness about child safety, was announced May 14 during a joint press conference involving the district, the Saratoga County District Attorney's Office, the Saratoga Springs Police Department, the Saratoga Springs Department of Public Safety, and the state Division of Criminal Justice Services.
The Saratoga Springs City School District is governed by a Board of Education composed of nine unsalaried citizens elected to serve overlapping terms of three years each. At the end of a term, a Board member wishing to continue public service must be reelected to another term. New York State law does not limit the number of terms a member may serve.
The school district has adopted "power standards" that, once mastered, give a student the ability to use reasoning and thinking skills to learn and understand other curriculum objectives. The standards include: literacy development; development and support of ideas, interpretation of charts, graphs and tables; critical thinking; mathematics; organizational skills; character education/citizenship; and personal health and fitness.
