Remsenburg-Speonk Union Free School District is committed to the development and implementation of an appropriate education for students with disabilities who reside in the district. The district is committed to developing readiness in reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills taught through theme units. Theme units are units of study in which lessons in various subject areas, such as language, math, science, and social studies, are related to one another. The Remsenburg-Speonk Union Free District works to ensure the establishment of a plan and policies for implementing school-wide approaches and pre-referral interventions in order to remediate a student’s performance.
