Poughkeepsie City School District is located at 11 College Avenue Poughkeepsie, NY. This public school system provides education for grades K through 12 for the community of Poughkeepsie City in the County of Dutchess. Poughkeepsie offers plenty of fine arts, entertainment, higher education, healthcare, transportation, business. The Metro-North commuter trains run hourly to and from NYC Grand Central Station. The residential neighborhoods are examples of excellent design and community planning. Poughkeepsie draws sight-seers and pleasure-seekers to its culturally and geographically fertile ground.
Poughkeepsie City School District is striving toward goals that increase the number of students graduating from the Poughkeepsie High School. All schools and programs will be led, managed, and staffed in an effective manner in a safe and secure environment. The district wants to improve the relationship between the District and the parents of the students, and increase test scores across the board. The Poughkeepsie City School District will continue to align what they teach with the curriculum of the New York State Education Department throughout the District.
