Plainedge Schools

Plainedge Union Free School District Board of Education is made up of seven residents who are elected by the people and serve without salary for a three-year term in office. The district provides a high quality; cost-effective education to the students is one of the highest priorities throughout the community. The entire community aids in providing all that is needed academically and emotionally for all students to succeed and becoming productive members of the community and society.

The Plainedge Union Free School District integrated learning environment incorporated by the district will enhance the teaching process in new ways, which will encourage problem solving, exploration and creativity in the classroom. The district supports learning experiences that are responsive to the developmental needs of young adolescents by creating a balance between elementary and secondary education. School officials encourage creativity and initiative, which will enable students to become actively engaged in their own learning while challenging them to become responsible for their success.
