New York City District #27 is located at 82-01 Rockaway Blvd Rm 460 Ozone Park, NY providing education in Queens County. New York City District #27 knows students learn more and achieve at higher levels when they go to schools that are safe, in good repair, and not overcrowded. The District recognizes that children excel when parents work closely with teachers and principals to develop strong partnerships. As partners in education, parents, guardians, and other family members have certain rights and responsibilities. Helping students learn is the end goal of New York City District #27. They are committed to providing students a solid education so they can go to college; get good jobs; and lead productive, successful lives.
Ozone Park is a New York City neighborhood located in the southwestern section of the borough of Queens bordering Woodhaven, Richmond Hill, Howard Beach. Different parts of the neighborhood are covered by Queens Community Board 9 and 10. The northern border is Atlantic Avenue, the western border is the county line with Brooklyn (mostly Drew Street), the southern border is South Conduit Avenue, and the eastern border is 108th Street. New York City District #27 adheres to the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) was signed into law in 2001. Like the Children First reforms, its goal is to raise academic standards, close achievement gaps, encourage more school accountability, and offer more choices to families and students.
