New York City District #26 is located at 61-15 Oceania St Bayside, NY and it provides the educational needs in Queens County. This New York Public School System is administered by the New York City Department of Education. Bayside is a suburban neighborhood in the borough of Queens in New York City, New York in the United States. Bayside is located in northeastern Queens, on the North Shore, and is part of Queens Community Board 11. It is one of New York's most ethnically diverse commuter towns, though inside the City limits.
Testing: Students and teachers are expected to adhere to the District Protocol for all testing events. The Protocol is reviewed by students and teachers at the start of each year. General directions about honesty and character during testing are reviewed.
This New York City District offers students interscholastic athletics, and sponsors a variety of extracurricular activities. Some examples of these activities are the school musical, service organizations such as Key Club, and SADD, and organizations such as Spirit Club and Student Government, which enhance school life.
The District staff members show a personal interest in developing students’ independent and creative thought, willingness to accept intellectual risks and challenges, forming superior work habits and cooperative, positive approaches to learning. While these attributes cannot always be precisely measured and adjusted, Teachers honor them and work energetically to foster their development. There is no doubt that the development of these skills brings with them not only a sense of academic achievement but also a feeling of pride and satisfaction.
