New York City District # 1 knows that through technology students will be able to demonstrate the application of knowledge they have gained. A comprehensive technology staff development plan is a cornerstone of effective teaching. Teachers will learn to facilitate use of technology as a tool, to improve student leaning and to demonstrate application of knowledge. District officials are always searching for the latest learning tools so students keep up with the New York State learning standards. Technology maximizes productivity and efficiency and enables schools to better prepare students for future learning. This includes the ability to access, analyze and communicate information, think critically and creatively and work cooperatively and productively with others.
