Northern Adirondack Schools
Northern Adirondack Central School District is located at 5572 Route 11 Ellenburg Depot, NY. This district offers very modern teaching facilities for a student that ensures proper competitive development with emphasis on achieving an individual’s full potential. This district provides education for grades K through 12 for residents who live in Clinton County. The town was first settled around 1800 and it sits on the west border of the county and is northwest of Plattsburgh. The south part of the town is in the Adirondack Park.
The Northern Adirondack Central School District makes use of Speech/Language services that is a part of special education. The program serves students demonstrating difficulty with developmentally appropriate articulation skills, language learning disabilities and cognitive delays. A student receiving speech/language services must be on an Individual Education Plan (I.E.P.)
This district thinks that as kids become better problem solvers and more critical thinkers, their self-esteem is boosted and they are more willing to participate in their regular classroom discussions. Students are never told exactly how to proceed in each activity; instead, they must read to understand directions and develop strategies in order to succeed. They are constantly challenged to devise strategies to solve real-life problems, and to verbalize their methods.
