The village is included in the Buffalo - Niagara Falls metropolitan area. The community was formerly known as "Rose's Corners" and "Kerr's Corners." The Village of North Collins was incorporated in 1911. The North Collins Central School District, located in Southern Erie County, is a PreK-12 community based learning center entrusted to provide a positive school environment. Staffed with professional, competent and well-trained personnel, the school strives to impart the knowledge, skills and habits necessary for all students of today to become productive, responsible adults of the 21st century.

The North Collins Central School District has an award-winning WeatherNet program combines meteorology and technology in an interactive learning environment. More than 6,000 schools nationwide use its standards-based lessons to teach a wide range of subjects, including science, math, geography, technology and more. Its ability to integrate real-world conditions and data into the classroom can help your children grasp difficult educational concepts and improve problem solving.
