New Hartford Central School District is located at 33 Oxford Road New Hartford, NY and Grades K-12 attends this public school district. New Hartford is a village in Oneida County, New York, United States. New Hartford Central School District takes special care to provide students with opportunities to meet with success under the New York State Standards and Assessments. The goal is to provide our children with real life experiences where they can be actively engaged in their learning. The school has joined a statewide campaign sponsored by the NY Public High School Athletic Association, Inc. to promote sportsmanship at school events. The district feels there is a need to stress the type of exemplary behavior that should be exhibited by all players and spectators at school events.
The staff works cohesively so we may maximize our efforts so learners can meet their potential. We offer a variety of services and have emphasized the use of technology. This technology allows our students to learn beyond the school walls. Our buildings have labs and clusters of computers in classrooms. One of the missions of co-curricular school activities is to serve as an extension of the classroom. There are important lessons to be learned in athletics. One of those lessons is to set and maintain high standards of sportsmanship, ethics, and integrity in school and society. It is up to parents, teachers and coaches to provide the direction and constant vigilance under which good sportsmanship can prosper and have a positive impact on our children.
The value of the lessons learned by exhibiting good sportsmanship will last a life time. If we ever lose sight of that, then athletics, or any co-curricular activity, is not worth sponsoring. The positive actions of a coach, athlete or spectator at an event can influence how the school is perceived in the community and surrounding areas.
