Ithaca City School District is located at 400 Lake Street Ithaca, NY serving grades Pk-12 in Tompkins County. The Ithaca City School District targets a mission to educate every student to become a life-long learner; to foster academic, social, emotional and physical development; to nurture an understanding a respect for all people in a multicultural and multiethnic world; and to promote responsible citizenship in a democracy.
Ithaca is a central launch point toward several higher learning educational facilities such as (Cornell University and Ithaca College), Cortland (SUNY at Cortland), and Dryden (Tompkins Cortland Community College) creates a unique blend of students with rural and suburban backgrounds. The Groton Central School District is situated in northern Tompkins County and includes parts of Cortland and Cayuga Counties.
The staff and teachers in the Ithaca City School District work right along with parents to provide one of the best teaching experiences for pupils. There are several different cultures and religions attending this New York Public School District so it has a very diverse background of students. Teachers are very committed to teaching these young minds and prepare them for grade advancements while preserving the ethics and cultural environment every parent expects.
