Horseheads Central School District is located at One Raider Lane Horseheads, NY. This school district is located in the Southern Tier of New York State and enrollment is for grades K-12. The Village of Horseheads was incorporated in 1837 and the well known writer Mark Twain, just happen to have wrote many of his books in Chemung County. Opportunities for advanced studies are more than abundant as there are many colleges and universities are within a two-hour drive, including Elmira College, Corning Community College, Ithaca College, Cornell University, SUNY Cortland, Syracuse University, the University of Rochester, and Rochester Institute of Technology.
It’s the expressed wishes of the Horseheads Central School District that students will graduate with desires and personal qualities to be; healthy, life-long learners, quality decision-makers, creative problem-solvers, effective communicator, and caring, productive citizens. Horseheads Central School District feels this can be achieved by providing a quality education for all within a nurturing environment which promotes excellence, growth, and a sense of civic responsibility.
Around the local area there are plenty of recreational and cultural things to see and visit, including the Clemens Center for the Performing Arts, the Corning Museum of Glass, the Wings of Eagles Discovery Center, Watkins Glen State Park, and more.
