Freeport Union Free School District Board of Education shapes policy and oversees the educational program for the Freeport Union Free School system. It is comprised non-salaried trustees who must be registered voters and have lived in Community for at least one year. Terms of office are staggered so that each year at least one board seat comes up for election. The Freeport Union Free School District is an equal opportunity employer and affirms that no person shall be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any educational program or activity on the basis of sex, national origin, race or handicap.

The Freeport Union Free School District continues an ongoing pattern of improvement. Teachers are all very proud of students’ academic achievement as measured by our State Assessment scores. The students are now achieving at levels that are similar to upper middle class and even affluent school districts, and we predict even better results next year. Other goals and philosophies include teaching students to empower themselves to be able to handle challenges in their lives and make them valuable citizens in a democratic society.
