Fallsburg Central School District is located at 115 Brickman Road Fallsburg, NY serving grades PK-12 in Sullivan County. The District is comprised of two outstanding schools. Benjamin Cosor Elementary School, and the Fallsburg Jr./Sr. High School. The Educational Mission is one of excellence which prevails throughout the many District programs. Excellence is achieved by creating a supportive environment in which children can learn. These schools serve a multi-cultural community of approximately 20,000 in the areas of Fallsburg, South Fallsburg, Glen Wild, Greenfield Park, Hurleyville, Loch Sheldrake, Mountaindale, Woodbourne and Woodridge.
The communities are located in eastern Sullivan County approximately 90 miles from New York City. The communities in the district provide opportunities for suburban, village and rural life styles. The community is invited to be involved in restructuring their educational programs to meet the challenges of the 21st Century. The district promotes community participation through Shared Decision Making, Outreach and Mentorship programs, and the development and implementation of our Comprehensive District Education Plan.
The District is guided by a Superintendent and Board of Education made up of nine community members elected to three year terms. The Boards intent is to prepare individuals to develop their fullest potential for living in the society of today and tomorrow. The Board recognizes their responsibility to help meet the physical, intellectual and emotional needs of children; particularly the needs to inquire, learn, think, and create; to establish aesthetic, moral and ethical values; and to relate satisfactorily to others in social situations involving family, work, government and recreation.
