Elmira City School District is located at 951 Hoffman Street in Elmira, New York. Schools in the district provide a quality education for students in grades pre-kindergarten through 12th grade. The district is home to 8 elementary schools, 2 middle schools, two high schools, and one alternative high school for grades 7th to 12th.
The mission of the district is Essentials for success in school, at home and in life: Every Student Succeeds. The district also holds their belief in education with beliefs such as everyone learns in different ways and at different rates, high expectations help create results, achievement motivates self confidence, laughter and a sense of humor enhances learning, learning is lifelong, diversity is an asset, along with a safe, secure and welcoming environment promotes learning.
The Elmira School District offers unique academic programs that meet all the needs of students while promoting each student to excel to the best of his or her ability. The courses at the various schools promote a wonderful environment in which students will learn while enjoying their school days. From such classes as individual instrumental instruction for students in 4th through 12th grade, career preparation studies in all grades, GST BOCES TEC program training for students in grades 9th through 12th.
