Dunkirk City School District is located at 620 Marauder Drive Dunkirk, NY. This district provides education for grades k-12 for the community of Dunkirk. Dunkirk is the westernmost city in the state of New York. The City of Dunkirk, located in the premier Chadwick Bay on Lake Erie is an exciting area full of growing opportunities for residents, visitors and the business community. Its centrally located to multiple major metropolitan areas, yet far enough removed to offer a slower pace and better quality of life. There are 4 Elementary schools operating in this district with one middle school and the Dunkirk Senior High School.
The School Board is comprised of unpaid officials elected by the voters to take the formal legal actions and establish the basic policies for the conduct of the schools.
The chief executive officer of the District (Superintendent) and is trusted with the duty of seeing that the Board policies and education laws are adhered to by the staff.
When it comes to sports, Dunkirk City School District encourages extra-curricular activities for students. Athletics is an extension of the classroom and contributes greatly to the overall education of our students. Athletics teaches our students qualities that are necessary to achieve throughout their lives including, self-discipline, teamwork, sportsmanship, and competitiveness.
Through the physical education programs, all students have a great opportunity to grow, develop, and achieve to their potentials. Dunkirk City School District expects that all students in programs will develop to their maximum physical, mental, and social potentials.
