Brentwood Union Free School District is one of the larger districts in New York State and it has been providing education since 1856. It provides education for the 71,000 residents of the community. Policies are directed by the Board of Education and its Superintendent is a professional educator. The district is very regimented in reports communicating regularly with the State Education Department, Regional Support Center and Eastern. It provides relevant information to the community through the District Newsletter, Website, Community Forums, PreK-12 College Fair and other opportunities.
The Brentwood Union Free School District teachers and other support personnel work to teach students to be healthy, productive, and responsible citizens and life-long learners.
Every school in the Brentwood School District has met the requirements of Suffolk Reading Council's Honor School Program. For 25 years Suffolk Reading Council, an
organization dedicated to the promotion of literacy, has bestowed Honor School awards to schools in Suffolk County.
