Bedford Central School District is located at 632 South Bedford Road Bedford, NY serving grades Pk-12 in Westchester County. Bedford Central School District strives to be a community of learners where full human development and adaptability to change are the primary goals. They seek to foster theses traits in a humane and caring climate in which diversity is respected. They are committed to nurturing responsibility, respect for individual rights, and active participation in community life as the necessary basis for a democratic society.
Throughout the District, special education students participate in regular classes. Special Education teachers work closely with grade level and subject area teachers as part of a collaborative/integrated special education program. Specialists in music, art, library, physical education, technology, home and careers and computers enrich the curriculum. The staff and teachers adhere to the mission statement of the district and pride themselves on working together with students, parents and community to provide a safe and quality learning environment for their students.
New York educators encourage individual excellence by students of all ages so that they may gain a lifelong enthusiasm for learning and work. General philosophies are set forth by the school communities which provide students a sound environment for educational excellence that will develop the skills, attitudes, knowledge and values to become contributing members of society.
