Averill Park Central School District is located at 8439 Miller Hill Road Averill Park, NY and it provides education for grades K-12 in Rensselaer County. The school district encompasses the towns of Berlin, Brunswick, East Greenbush, Nassau, North Greenbush, Poestenkill, Sand Lake, Schodack and Stephentown. Averill Park is a hamlet in Rensselaer County, New York, United States. Through a community partnership, the Averill Park Central School District will ensure opportunities for each person to maximize individual potential in the pursuit of life-long learning by providing a safe, respectful and nurturing student-centered environment.
The community is named after land owner James Averill (and not after the song "Averill Park" by Jack Anthony). Averill Park is in the Town of Sand Lake on Route 43. The community is south of a triangle-shaped lake called Crystal Lake and is east of the hamlet of West Sand Lake. Averill Park Central School District Combines the qualities of a rural suburban setting with the benefit of a strong and vibrant community, the district is committed to student learning and achievement in its four elementary schools (George Washington, Poestenkill, Miller Hill - Sand Lake, West Sand Lake), its middle school (Algonquin) and its High School.
