Amsterdam City School District is located at 11 Liberty Street Amsterdam, NY and provides education for grades PK-12. The Amsterdam City School District serves the community of Amsterdam in Montgomery County. The Amsterdam School District believes that students of all ages can and should learn. Amsterdam believes that the purpose of our schools is the education of the whole child. They have the potential to generate community pride, provide educational and cultural opportunities to residents, and enhance tourism in the area.

We are ideally located just minutes from the New York State Thruway, the Adirondack Mountains, Lake George Region, Sacandaga Lake and Saratoga Spings which has some of the finest horse tracks in the Country.
The educational programs in Amsterdam City School District provide a wide range of challenges in various subjects to meet the needs and talents of the student population including the basic educational needs of Math, English Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies. The staff and teachers strive to create a learning environment that will promote self worth, respect for others, and the appreciation of learning.
